We’re always amazed at how the culture of StarCraft manifests itself. There’s a Swedish metal band called Avatar who’s opening song for their new self-titled album pays tribute to the Queen of Blades and it floored us – epic song. If anyone wants to take a stab at the lyrics, please do.

Hm, MeloDeath ist ja eig. genau meine Musikrichtung, aber die ersten Male hat mir der Song von den Vocals her (abgesehen vom tollen Intro) nicht so zugesagt, mittlerweile weiß er zu gefallen (und die anderen Songs auf dem Album sind großartig, das kommt wohl auf meine To-Buy Liste^^ (wenn man so darüber nachdenkt eigentlich ein guter Marketing-Einfall, soviele Starcraft Fansiten wie jetzt darüber berichten ))

Vor allem die geile Gitarre in der Strophe )

Dito Crispy. Höre sonst auch sehr viel Melo Death, aber der Song ist... seltsam.

Ich sehs aber genau Andersrum. Mir gefallen die Vocs im Refrain sehr gut. Der Rest ist imho eher crappy.

Zu den Vocs muss ich sagen, ich habe/hatte dazu irgendwie "folkige" Assoziationen (SuidAkra), und irgendwie fand ich es als ganzes.... ja, seltsam trifft es schon ganz gut. Wie gesagt, mittlerweile finde ich den Song aber echt gut.
(Btw. MeloDeath ist ja auch ein sehr weites Feld, kann man sehr unterschiedlich fassen, CoB, Göteborg Metal, eher Metalcore-Artiges....)

Ah, es tut mir leid Aber prozentuell ist es einfach wahrscheinlicher das der Post von Crispy ist als von dir.

DU hast übrigens recht. Ich hab mir den Song jetzt ein paar mal reingezogen, und er wird immer besser mit der Zeit.
Wunder mich übrigens das gerade Avatar den geschrieben hat. Habe die Band schon mal im Visier gehabt, aber da waren sie noch so unbekannt das es von ihnen nur wenig auf utube zu sehen gab. Vllt. der durchbruch?
