Mehr dazu beim Link in meiner SignaturAt the Art Panel, we were given lots of information about the art design and graphic engine of the game by Samwise Didier (Senior Art Director), Rob McNaughton (Lead Technical Artist), Allen Dilling and Dave Berggren (both Senior 3D Artists). Here are some interesting pieces of information from the panel:
The new graphic engine supports normal mapping, shadow mapping with soft shadows, high dynamic range rendering and tone mapping, integrated Havok engine and a facial animation system (probably with lip-sync included). Blizzard intends to create 2-3 different walk animations for each unit, in order to create a "swarm effect" as they call it.
The team has "evolved" Kerrigan's design, and she is now half more armored with Zerg carapace, and half more human - no longer just a girl in a purple jumpsuit and rasta air.
No longer just a girl...
At the Lore Panel, Chris Metzen and Andy Chambers revealed lots of information regarding the plot and characters. For example, The Protoss have a new female executor - Silendas (might not be spelled correctly), while Artanis is now the leader of the whole Protoss. He's trying to resolve the conflicts between the Dark Ones and the Khala Followers.
Meanwhile, Kerrigan moved back to Char, and hasn't launched an attack for the entire 4 years since the Brood War, although her ultimate attack might come at any time.
Jim Raynor is based on a character from the movie The Rush, sort of an "undercover Texas cop". Running out of money and belief, Raynor has been drinking a lot...
The previous characters the player played (The Executor, The Magistrate and he Cerebrate) are not coming back. Also, Metzen confirmed we might not see Stukov in StarCraft II, but maybe in the future. And no, Fenix will not return.
These are only small shards of information from these panels. We'll reveal information (and believe us - there's lots of it) later on with full, detailed articles
